Job Description:

Provide guidance to undergraduate students majoring in Marine Sciences (MAS) and Natural Resource Conservation (NRC) regarding academic requirements, appropriate class selection, academic policies/procedures, campus resources, and career opportunities. Monitors student progress and handles student concerns by suggesting academic resources or programs. Reports cases of sexual harassment/misconduct to the university Title IX Coordinator.

Advises on lower-division issues associated with general education requirements and critical tracking, as well as with upper-division course selection and career planning. Update and maintain student records, including degree audits, petitions, etc. in accordance with state/federal law and university regulations. Coordinate with and support faculty in their interactions with students and with academic procedures.

Engage prospective students interested in the MAS and NRC majors through meetings with students and their families, attending informational events associated with both transfer students and current UF students, and engaging prospective students through social media and similar tools.

Expected Salary:

$46,000 - $55,000

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in education, counseling, or academic field related to the college OR Bachelor's degree in similar fields with one year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in natural resources field, preferably in an area of study encompassed by FFGS programs. Knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, professional employment in the broad field of natural resource management. Demonstrated expertise in computer software applications. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Able to work out of town and on an irregular schedule.
