Job Description:

General Responsibilities:

  • Perform sampling, site inspections, and other data collection

  • Asbestos, lead, moisture, mold, and hazardous materials surveys

  • Perform asbestos abatement air monitoring and project management.

  • Hazardous material abatement monitoring

  • Demolition/Construction monitoring

  • Perform tests and sampling of environmental materials including, but not limited to, air, building materials, and noise.

  • Transport material samples or documents to the lab for further testing and analysis.

  • Mold remediation protocol development

  • Industrial hygiene assessments, such as work exposure evaluations and noise dosimetry

  • Operate field monitoring equipment.

  • Field-related documentation and communication

  • Tabulate and prepare data and project logs for written reports.

  • Clean and maintains field monitoring equipment.

  • Report writing and data interpretation

  • Ensure safe work practices on all project work and adhere to strict safety standards.

  • Actively develop your own career path

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

Performs standardized and sometimes complex field tests as directed and/or special inspections as required.

  • Calibrate field monitoring equipment such as high- and low-volume air sampling pumps.

  • Sample suspect asbestos-containing building materials

  • Sample suspect lead-containing paint.

  • Perform oversight and air monitoring during asbestos abatement projects.

  • Under the direction of a staff professional, performs complex field tasks.

  • Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.

  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.

Requirements:

  • High school or equivalent

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history

  • Able to successfully pass background checks for working at a federal facility.

  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.

  • Must be willing to travel, including overnight trips up to and including month or longer assignments (80% Travel Requirement)

  • Must be able to pass medical exam and be medically cleared to wear a negative-pressure respirator

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds of equipment throughout an 8-hour shift

  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends, or extended shifts beyond 8 hours

  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights and work in variable environments

Preferred Certification:

  • Current asbestos abatement supervisor training (Ohio EPA Asbestos Hazard Abatement Specialist)

  • Current asbestos inspector/management planner training (Ohio EPA Asbestos Hazard Evaluation Specialist

  • NIOSH 582 or 582E Training
