Clearance:Active DoD Secret Clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret, Top Secret Clearance is preferred.

Work Schedule:Part-Time, remote. Travel less than 10%.

Role Overview:

Linchpin Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Facility Security Officer (FSO) to oversee and administer the company’s security program in compliance with DoD regulations and contract security requirements. The FSO will manage all personnel security processes, ensure compliance with DoD and industrial security policies, and maintain critical security documentation. Candidates must possess a current Secret Security Clearance.

Specific Skillset

  • Serve as the primary FSO, overseeing all aspects of the personnel security program in alignment with DoD regulations and contractual obligations.

  • Develop and maintain security-related documentation, including security application instructions, NDAs, clearance notifications, foreign travel briefings, and clearance transfers.

  • Review and ensure accuracy of security clearance applications prior to submission to the DoD.

  • Set up and manage the fingerprint submission process, ensuring clear communication of instructions.

  • Track all stages of security clearance applications from prescreening through adjudication and final posting.

  • Manage compliance with national industrial security policies (32 CFR 117), including insider threat programs, briefings, self-inspections, and security record maintenance.

  • Track and complete foreign travel briefings, insider threat meetings, and annual security awareness training.

  • Liaise between Linchpin Solutions and government security officials to manage security actions, visit requests, and clearance reviews.

  • Maintain classified contract information and DD254s in accordance with DoD standards.

  • Ensure separated personnel are removed from DoD systems and coordinate with staff on personnel security issues.

  • Lead the preparation and execution of annual security reviews by the DCSA.

  • Provide guidance to staff on DoD and USAID personnel security matters.

  • Administer the day-to-day security program, including personnel processing, program reviews, document control, audits, self-inspections, and visit certifications.

  • Ensure compliance with the National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM) and company security policies.

  • Provide security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training for all personnel.

  • Oversee security databases such as NISS, NBIS, DISS, and SWFT for clearance processing, visit requests, and certifications.

  • Conduct security training and ensure the safeguarding of all classified and COMSEC materials.

  • Administer DISS, NBIS, NISS, and SWFT activities, including clearance processing and visitor certifications.

  • Maintain proper records for security compliance, including preparation for facility reviews and inspections.

  • Act as the primary contact for DSS/NBIS reviews and correspondence, maintaining strong relationships with contract security offices.

  • Support other company security disciplines, such as Legal, Information Technology, and Corporate Communications, as needed.

  • Provides security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training for all personnel.

  • Processes outgoing visit requests and certifications.

  • Review required forms, processes, and screens security forms (SF86).

  • Preparations for facility reviews and inspections.

  • Develop, implement, and oversee federal security clearance program.

  • Provide training for AFSO's and classified/secure project personnel.

  • Oversee company's completion and retention of personnel security clearance records.

Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred but not required.

  • FSO Certification.

  • Certification in FSO Orientation for Non-Possessing Facilities is preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Facility Security Officer or related role.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience directly managing an FSO program.

  • Proficiency with security databases, including NISS, NBIS, DISS, and SWFT.

  • Ability to interpret and implement security policies, provide guidance to personnel, and oversee a comprehensive security program.

  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams in a remote environment.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to delivering high-value security services.
