Education / Training:

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.

Quality Manager, Advanced Rail Technology

Key Job Elements:

• Responsible for creating the test strategy and plan testing new developments;

• Analyze product specifications, and decompose software systems to create the test strategy;

• Create and execute new test cases;

• Expand and maintain test cases and documentation to meet software release deliverables;

• Interact with the software development and systems team to ensure quality in feature design and development;

• Work with CI/CD pipeline to build and deploy test environment;

• Interpret and report test results – be quality advocate during development and release process;

• Work with the team to create solutions to the most important and meaningful technical problems;

• Reports to the Director of Software Deployment and works closely with the different engineering groups to deploy practical and highly functional systems for railways;

• Willingness to read product specs and take it upon yourself to fill in the gaps;

• Proven experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving system problems;

• Proficient in software design and implementation;

• Solid understanding of information processing fundamentals and best practices;

• Above-average analytical, conceptual, and troubleshooting abilities;

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

• Self-starter, willing to take on whatever tasks are necessary to facilitate the design, implementation, and testing of the systems;

• Detail oriented, with a solid track record prioritizing and executing tasks under pressure;

• Previous experience working in an Agile test team;

• Experience with the creation and execution of test cases and test plans, and the generation of test reports preferred;

• Experience with Microsoft Windows & Ubuntu Linux operating systems preferred;

• Knowledge of Computer Networking, TCP/IP, UDP etc;

• Experience with Amazon AWS Cloud preferred.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Excellent communication skills;

• Experience working with internal and external customers;

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft office applications;

• Preferred: Cloud experience and/or certification (AWS is a big plus);

• Preferred: Scrum or agile certification;

• Preferred: Experience in python, C#, or .NET languages;

• Preferred: Rail domain experience.

Essential and Physical Activities Functions

• Strength – Position typically involves work in an office environment with occasional visits to an industrial environment. Frequent/constant sitting. Occasional standing and walking. Occasional light to medium- level lifting or carrying (up to 50 pounds);

• Motion – Position regularly requires standard motions associated with working in an office environment. Depending on assigned project, position may occasionally require motions involved in an industrial working environment, including some low to intense levels of pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, reaching, grasping;

• Vision/Hearing Requirements – Frequent verbal communications, including both talking and hearing;

• Work Environment – Position is typically located in an office environment with occasional visits to an industrial environment which may include a non-temperature-controlled environment, as well as exposure to noise (85+ decibels), occasional exposure to temperature changes, heavy machinery and other hazardous working conditions requiring the use of PPE. Position may require travel as necessary, both domestic and international;

• Emotional Demands – Very high level of responsibility. Must be able to coordinate diverse aspects of a project. Requires significant interpersonal skills while sustaining very high standards;

• Safety – Position may occasionally require the use of Personal Protective Equipment during visits to industrial areas.
