Sr. Manager of Cyber Security Engineering The Sr. Manager of Cyber Security Engineering is a key management role in the continued innovation of Comerica’s Cybersecurity strategy and will operate, develop and expand a best-in-class Security infrastructure. This role is responsible for leading a premier Engineering team that develops, operates, and supports the Security infrastructure for Comerica. The incumbent will continue to build and lead the Cybersecurity Engineering program and lead a team of high performing cyber security Engineers. This role will develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy, work with key vendor partners, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The Manager will influence partners in Technology teams to engineer secure systems, and is looked at as a key subject matter expert in security engineering across the company. The Sr. Manager of Cyber Security Engineering will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Cybersecurity architecture, log engineering, fraud detection systems, email security, security event monitoring systems, endpoint security, and network security engineering. This position will be responsible for ensuring the security of our organization's data, systems, and networks. Position Responsibilities: Security Engineering Strategy * Oversee the development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of security architecture, log engineering, SIEM, endpoint security, and network security engineering programs. * Develop and implement Security Engineering related policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the protection of the organization's data, systems, and networks. * Collaborate with other teams and departments to assist with: * Compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices. * Identifying and assessing security risks and threats. * Monitoring of security threats and vulnerabilities. * Developing and implementing effective security measures to prevent security breaches and cyber-attacks. * Managing technology incidents, investigations, and reporting. * Developing and maintaining security awareness and training programs for employees. * As a member of the Senior management team, partner with Enterprise Security and Technology leaders to formulate the company's security strategies and product roadmaps. * Develop Security Engineering vision, strategy, and a roadmap, and lead the team and its business partners in effective execution. * Proactively advise the Senior Management team on the emerging technologies and security trends that are most relevant to the company's goals and evolving needs. Execution Excellence: * Oversee the design, implementation, and enhancement of security controls, systems, and protocols to protect company assets and data. * Ensure adherence to secure coding practices and review security aspects of application and system architecture. * Implement the most appropriate and effective organizational design to support and engage with the business. * Establish metrics for managing Security Engineering effectiveness and impact including availability and reliability of all key systems. * Maintain oversight of all Cyber Security Engineering projects, ensuring that commitments are properly planned, staffed, monitored, and delivered. * Monitor the industry to remain up to date with the latest security engineering and cloud security trends and technologies and make recommendations for improvements to the organization's security posture. Leadership and Development * Supervise and manage a large team of Security Engineering professionals, including recruiting, hiring, training and performance management to ensure the team is performing effectively. * Ensure the continuous development and advancement of Security and Technology skills and capabilities among teams across the Security Engineering and Cloud Security teams through on-going coaching, mentoring, and fostering an environment of continuous learning. * Create and nurture teams of teams with shared goals and objectives, while retaining and attracting top talent. * Identify skill gaps within the cyber security team and create professional development plans to address them. * Exhibit a participative management style with peers of Enterprise Security and with business partners, providing a positive influence on the workforce and Enterprise Security leadership teams. Risk and Operational Management * Manage strategic vendor relationships. * Manage a comprehensive set of department KPIs to demonstrate and measure the performance indicators of the team and technologies. * Promote continuous improvement mindset in improving operations. * Develop operational run book and procedures for respective products and platforms. * Manage risk and ensure risk mitigation plans are actively managed and adjusted as appropriate. * Effective engagement with regulators, audit and risk teams as required. Financial Planning * Experience managing technology budget and working with a diverse set of technology suppliers. * Develop and implement plan to track usage of Security investments. * Accountable for creating, securing approval for and management of Department's capital and expense budgets, while exhibiting strict cost discipline. * Review, recommend, and oversee all vendors and managed service agreements for Security Engineering and Cloud Security services. * Responsible for developing and delivering effective proposals in a manner that provides crisp and clear business value to executive leadership.
