Responsibilities

Job Summary:

This position reports to the Unit Manager and will be responsible for extracting maximum efficiency of the company’s Operational Technology. Managing the activities of the facility's Continuous Improvement Program using the Lean tools based within our Pactiv Business Systems program.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop plans, schedules and budgets for projects to improve existing processes.

  • Develops and implements all recurring PBS & GMP training programs applicable to the facility, including general PBS and GMP awareness.

  • Monitors & Autonomously Changes Training Program supporting Pactiv Business System “PBS”, Good Manufacturing Practices “GMP” and Operations Department Module Training.

  • Conduct Weekly & Monthly Meetings centered on the current Continuous Improvement Plant Focus

  • Lead and direct the work of the Natural Team Leaders on each shift.

  • Manages and audits training for new hire employees supporting PBS, GMP & Total Productive Maintenance “TPM” procedures targeted to support a productive manufacturing process.

  • Coaches Leads on best training practices for training hourly employees on the floor.

  • Conducts specified training as needed for Temporary and Pactiv employees to improve “KATA” communication, Productivity Circles and employee interaction for better standard work processes supporting productivity.

  • Provide guidance to the Maintenance Team supporting the process improvement as determine by this position.

  • Lead the 5S effort supporting our Total Productive Maintenance “TPM” and the GMP process, which includes a Cleaning Schedule. This includes Training, Auditing and follow-up on action items.

  • Check and adjust improvement projects to hit targeted improvement goals.

  • Become certified as a Kaizen Leader and Manage - Kaizen Event Calendar.

  • Train Leaders to run Kaizen events focused on the identification of a Root Cause Issue for chronic interruptions; Selection of Potential Solutions and the creation of an action plan tracked to completion and audited for effectiveness.

  • Write or modify Standard Work Instructions or “SWIS”.

  • Assist others in the spread and use of Best Practices supporting Lean Manufacturing and GMP.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a related manufacturing environment; 2 Year Degree in a field related to business, logistics, industrial engineering or packaging engineering preferred

  • Demonstrated computer literacy with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes preferred.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills

Work Conditions:

  • Indoor industrial environment that may experience high temperatures and humidity during the summer months.

  • Hearing Protection is required when out on the production floor due to industrial machinery sound level.

  • Required to wear ASTM F2413-05 safety shoes (Steel or comparable safety shoes worn at all times).

  • Required to wear Bump Cap, Hair or Beard Net, and other Safety gear as required.

  • Hair and or fascial hair grooming maintained to support food safety standards with the use of hair and/or beard nets.

  • Able to stand, bend, stoop or squat, bend or twist, climb stairs and ladders, walk, and constant use of both hands repeatedly for the duration of the shift.

  • Able to push or pull 30-50 lbs.

  • Occasional: sitting, stoop/squat, ladder/steps, climbing, bending/twist.

  • Frequent: kneel/crawl/bend, stair climbing, carrying 0-30 lbs., high, low outreaching, standing, walking

  • Repeated use of: wrist/hand/fingers/shoulder/elbow/hips/ ankles/head/neck.

For individuals hired to work in California, Pactiv Evergreen is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The compensation range is specific to California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Pactiv Evergreen, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $58,100-96,800 at the Continuous Improvement Leader level, however, we are also open to raising the level and compensation for exemplary candidates at the Continuous Improvement Manager level.
