The City of Fresno is looking for a dynamic Community Services and Recreation Supervisor to lead and inspire others in planning and managing recreational and community services. Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Plan, implement, and evaluate community service and recreation programs to meet the needs of the community.
Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of community centers and recreational programs.
Develop, train, and evaluate staff performance, including hiring, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
Collaborate with community partners, organizations, and civic groups to promote and enhance program offerings.
Conduct inspections of recreational facilities and ensure compliance with safety and fire regulations.
Oversee the reservation and coordination of sports fields, courts, and league schedules.
Prepare and maintain program records, reports, budgets, and requisitions for facility maintenance supplies.
Provide excellent customer service to the community regarding recreation activities, safety concerns, and program availability.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Duties and schedules may vary by assignment and/or department, please inquire about specific duties and/or schedules if called upon for an interview. Incumbents may be required to work any shift; nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Current vacancies exist in the PARCS Department. Immediate and future vacancies will be filled from this eligible list for a period of three (3) months from the date the eligible list is created, with the option of extending that period at the City's discretion. If the examination process is suspended for this recruitment, the eligible list may be limited to three (3) months.
THE REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications on or before the posted filing deadline in order to qualify for the examination and does not assure a place on the eligibility list.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors Degree in recreation, education, physical education, public administration, or related field;
AND
Three (3) years of experience in organizing, planning and implementing recreation or community service programs and activities, including at least one (1) year of full-time experience leading and/or supervising permanent and/or temporary staff in organizing, planning and implementing recreation or community service programs and activities.
Lead experience may be defined to include assigning, reviewing and coordinating work of subordinate staff.
Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
