ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining and repairing building system operations and the performance of various areas including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function and is responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Basic Electrical experience: replacing light bulbs, LED retrofits, electrical troubleshooting, replacing wall plates, and any electrical certification.

  • Basic Plumbing experience

  • General Facility understanding: Meeting Set ups, Internal Moves, and Furniture assembly.

  • Various facility requests

  • Building Vendor Relationship

  • Install/Uninstall monitor arms, double monitor arms, and switch out for single arm.

  • Coordinate with contractors: Preventive Maintenance and Repairs

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Keep records of all building inspection

  • HVAC maintenance to include preventive maintenance.

  • Limited carpentry

Supervisory Responsibilities

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical mentorship and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate work and assign tasks.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.

Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair using the following:

  • Mechanical

  • Electrical

  • Plumbing

  • Commercial Lighting

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Minimum of one year of campus facilities maintenance or related experience (building/engineering operations) and/or trade school training.

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.

Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.

Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.

In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

California Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training and experience. The salary range is $33 - $34 per hour. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience.
