About You and this Role

You will share responsibility for the implementation of the EH&S management system, in order to meet business objectives and to maintain the license to operate for the Adhesive Polymers Plant (APP) in Freeport, TX. You will provide hands-on environmental, industrial hygiene (IH), and health and safety (H&S) activities for a specific plant. You will be required to have full proficiency in a range of technical, operational, or analytical/scientific processes and procedures through job-related training and considerable on the job experience to perform a variety of work assignments. You will act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.

Responsibilities

• Implements detailed, task level, day to day EH&S programs, utilizing the EH&S work process, standards and procedures

• Ensures that the Environmental, IH, and Health and Safety aspects of operating discipline are adequate and applied to achieve EH&S performance goals. In most cases, would perform the role of section owner for the EH&S sections of operating discipline

• Acts as the Plant resource for related EH&S information on procedures, guidelines and standards

• Serves as plant contact for Environmental, IH, and Health and Safety issues

• Coaches teams and individuals on EH&S related tasks and activities

• Assists in developing and achieving area or plant EH&S goals

• Ensures compliance tasks are completed

• Performs/coordinates certain Environmental, and IH monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting for the Plant

Qualifications

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED

• A minimum of two years of relevant experience

• Must have current, valid US Driver's License

• The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed and the ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation

• A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process

Preferred Skills

• Four or more years of EH&S and manufacturing or operations related experience, as well as a candidate with defined examples of ownership and engagement in facility EH&S

• An associate’s degree, or higher, in relevant field OR 3+ years military experience

Physical Demands

• Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes

• Wear and use respirators

• Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground

• Stand or walk for extended periods of time

• Work in an area with hazardous materials

• Ability to work comfortably and safely at elevated heights. Candidates must be familiar with, or willing to undergo training in, the proper usage and maintenance of safety equipment to ensure safe movement and operations at heights.
