We are looking for a Critical Rotating Equipment Engineer to join our GEC team in Freeport, TX or Geismar, LA.

We have a great opportunity for a Critical Rotating Equipment Engineer to join our Technical Expertise team to provide support for BASF Corporation sites in the region and contribute to global improvements as part of the BASF Machinery, Asset Maintenance and Reliability community. You will provide on-site and remote support to continuously improve rotating equipment availability and provide solutions for specific equipment performance issues at multiple BASF manufacturing sites in North America. We are relying on you to assess and correct issues and drive continuous improvement to ensure sustained plant reliability to meet customer expectations. As a member of the Machinery Expertise team, you will interface closely with regional and global colleagues with a high level of experience and range of knowledge to continuously develop and implement best practices related to various types of rotating equipment.

As a Critical Rotating Equipment Engineer, you create chemistry by...

  • Leveraging your engineering education and experience with rotating equipment troubleshooting and repair to support manufacturing sites producing a wide range of products.

  • Utilizing your depth of expertise to support plant maintenance and reliability teams by working together to diagnose issues, develop and implement repairs and corrective actions for planned and emergency repairs, overhauls and outages.

  • Supporting sites in the region by providing rotating equipment expertise to drive sustainable improvements as well as utilizing a forward thinking approach that embraces new technology and innovation as enablers to superior performance.

  • Leading and participating in site Reliability Programs including (but not limited to) Bad Actor Program, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Root Cause Failure Analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Risk Based Maintenance, etc.

  • Working with related functions of BASF Engineering and Maintenance globally to align on work processes, procedures, methodologies, best practices, etc. and engaging across the region, you will collaborate with production, maintenance, engineering, and research personnel at multiple sites and business units.

If you...

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required. Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is preferred.

  • 10 years of experience in rotating equipment troubleshooting and repair to support manufacturing sites.

  • Ability to make crucial business decisions and recommendations to identify areas for improvement and increase equipment reliability.

  • Experience providing input on capital projects is a plus.
