Exotic Automation & Supply Customer Service Representative in Freeland, Michigan

Exotic Automation and Supply is currently looking for a Customer Service Representative to join the team in a full-time capacity at our Freeland, MI location.

General Summary:

Carries out the day-to-day level II customer service operations with both internal and external customers. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, knowledge of Exotic product lines, servicing customer inquiries, product requests, quotations, order entry, order follow-up and all level II system functions related to customer service. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Able to perform all essential functions of the CSR I position.

  • Full understanding and use of all Supplier portals and tools.

  • Full understanding of how to find a supplier for any request.

  • Completed Product knowledge level 2 and 3.

    Supplemental Job Functions:

  • Provides and supports a positive work environment.

  • Responsible for profitability of company and attaining goals and objectives set forth by the department management.

  • Participates in corporate on-boarding and orientation programs.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High School Diploma (required), Associate’s degree preferred.

  • Two (2+) years customer service experience (industrial sales preferred).

  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt to different types of personalities.

  • Solid understanding of PC and previous experience working with Industrial distribution software and supplier tools.

  • Excellent customer service attributes.

  • Proven ability to solve problems and maintain attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and a collaborative mindset.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and change focus and tasks quickly and efficiently.

  • Ability to work overtime when necessary with appropriate notice.

  • Organizational skills required to prioritize, plan and coordinate work activities and resources in area of responsibility.

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with associates, customers, business partners and management team.  Demonstrated teamwork approach with superiors, peers and subordinates utilizing skills in oral communication, active listening, written and oral directions and cooperating with and assisting others when needed.

    Working Conditions:

  • Normal office environment with regular (up to 100% of work time) exposure to noise, dust, office equipment and supplies. 

  • Physical dexterity needed to bend, stretch, lift and reach.

  • Ability to sit or stand for extensive periods throughout the day.

  • Ability to perform basic office tasks using standard office equipment.
