We have an exciting opportunity for Yard Truck Driver/Jockeys in Franklin. work hours: 6:30 AM - 4 PM

Responsibilities

• Trailer Movement: Safely move trailers to and from dock doors and designated yard locations.

• Load and Unload Assistance: Assist with loading and unloading trailers as needed, ensuring proper placement and securing of cargo.

• Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain accurate records of trailer and container inventory within the yard.

• Inspection and Reporting: Conduct regular inspections of trailers and yard trucks for maintenance issues and report any damage or needed repairs.

• Coordination with Warehouse: Work closely with warehouse staff to ensure timely movement of trailers to meet shipping and receiving schedules.

• Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including securing loads and following yard traffic rules.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of trailer movements, yard activities, and any incidents.

• Emergency Response: Act as the first responder for any yard-related emergencies, such as spills or accidents.

• Yard Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient yard layout to optimize trailer movement and safety.

• Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance tasks on yard equipment, including refueling, checking tire pressure, and inspecting brakes and lights.

The essential functions of this role include:

• wearing steel toe shoes

• working in a non-temperature controlled environment

Skills

• Truck and Trailer Operation (1 year of experience is preferred)
