UL, LLC Global Onboarding Manager in Franklin, Tennessee

We are seeking a Global Onboarding Manager to join our growing Global People Services team. Reporting to the Director, People Services, the Global Onboarding Manager will work proactively with the Global People Services, field HR, Talent Acquisition and the HR Centers of Excellence to implement processes and systems that empower an extraordinary new hire and onboarding experience. In an effort to forge meaningful experiences for our employees, finding those opportunities that can be “uniquely UL”, this position calls for a creative and dedicated individual who will approach this role with a strong balance of continuous improvement, technical savvy, operational excellence, and innovative drive.

With thousands of employees being hired annually, this role can create an impact felt across the entire global organization in the form of a seamless new hire and onboarding experience. This role can be based out of any UL site globally and will manage a small global team of regional Onboarding Partners.

Position Overview

Owning the operational elements of the pre-boarding and onboarding process, with a focus on the new hire and onboarding experience, the Global Onboarding Manager will balance the strategic and creative elements of designing and launching the new hire/onboarding program, while remaining laser focused on delivering a customer-centric experience that creates a memorable “moment that matters” for our new colleagues.

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing current and proposed onboarding processes to discover potential gaps and propose efficiencies and future process changes, with a focus on the new hire and onboarding period.

  • Crafting and detailing scalable solutions to drive improvement and standardization within the onboarding across our global teams.

  • Creating a new hire experience that leverages technology to scale but never loses the human element, ensuring our new hires feel cared for and supported.

  • Applying operational dashboards, controls, and reporting to independently audit, track, and drive optimal process adoption and performance across onboarding programs and processes

  • Development and management of the new hire and onboarding modules within ServiceNow, with integrations across various systems/vendors (Oracle HR, background checks, etc.)

  • Collaborating with Talent Acquisition, HR/COEs, business leaders, candidates, and new employees to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of tools, systems, delivery, and processes

Previous experience and qualifications:

  • University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field of study.

  • At least 10 years of HR Operations or Talent Acquisition experience, ideally within a global company

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop and inspire a global team to go above and beyond.

  • Technically savvy with previous experience leveraging technology to support and improve HR processes and the employee experience

  • Proven track record of leading HR projects and/or programs; building out new programs or processes from the ground up, preferred.

  • A balance between an operational mindset with a flair for the creative in designing and executing on programs and experiences that are globally consistent and compliant, while also being uniquely innovative and driving desired results and outcomes

  • Results-oriented with an ownership mentality to drive solutions that require cross-functional collaboration.

  • Acts as a continuous learner, role modeling that innovation never ceases and even a strong process has room for improvement.

  • Customer-centricity infused in every interaction. A natural inclination to view work and its impact through the lens of the customer.

  • Ability to build relationships and use influence to drive results through cross-functional and global teams

  • A relentless eye for quality in the work of the team
