Bridge Construction Laborer Description:

Construction laborers need good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and balance. You will participate in a variety of construction projects and follow construction plans and instructions from the site supervisor and/or foreman. You should be capable of working as a team member and have basic problem-solving and math skills.

To be successful in this position, you will work well as part of a team, enjoy working outdoors, and be able to perform strenuous physical tasks.

Your responsibilities might include:

clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards

load, unload, identify, and distribute building materials to the appropriate location according to project plans and specifications on building construction projects.

help other craft workers, including carpenters, operating engineers, and masons.

prepare highway work zones and rights of way; install traffic barricades, cones, and markers; and control traffic passing near, in, and around the work zone.

to work in environmental remediation must pass a physical test that measures the ability to wear protective equipment such as respirators.

operate various equipment including pavement breakers, jackhammers, earth tampers, concrete, mortar, and plaster mixers, electric and hydraulic boring machines, torches, laser beam equipment, and surveying and measuring equipment.

Assembling and breaking down barricades, temporary structures and scaffolding.

Following all health and safety regulations

Mixing, pouring, and leveling concrete

Job requirements:

Pass physical exam

Pass drug test

Willingness to undertake training if necessary
