The Manager is responsible for executing on BD’s Ethics & Compliance strategy with specific focus on the Americas. The Manager will oversee day-to-day activities related to interactions with Health Care Professionals, and will partner with compliance officers to provide advice and support on compliance matters and to help address situations that may need remediation. The Manager will also assist the North America Regional Compliance teams with regional projects and initiatives including (but not limited to) deployment and implementation of policies, procedures, trainings, and tools.

This position will report to the Assistant General Counsel, Ethics & Compliance.

Job Overview:

· Partner with business leaders and relevant stakeholders through participation in governance committees around grants and consultant interactions.

· Proactively understand the evolution of the compliance requirements and enforcement landscape to pre-emptively address and mitigate compliance risks.

· Provide guidance and support on industry codes and other relevant regulations at the direction of Compliance Officers.

· Perform compliance trainings focusing on healthcare compliance, third party compliance risks, relevant laws and regulations and company policies and procedures at direction of the Compliance Officers.

· Assist business sponsors in completing business justifications forms and questionnaires. Review questionnaires for completeness, accuracy, and quality of responses , and review relevant information to identify potential remediation or mitigations actions.

· Review and, if adequate, approve contracts with Healthcare Professionals and Healthcare Organizations.

· Manage systems related to engagement with Healthcare Professionals and Healthcare Organizations, including reviewing, approving, and drafting agreements for HCP consultants, charitable donations, and educational meetings.

· Support the local grants committee and works on the local implementation of BD systems for managing grants requests.

· Support the Corporate Transparency team to ensure compliance with local and regional transparency requirements.

· Partner with other Ethics and Compliance colleagues to advance the global compliance program at direction of Compliance Officers.

Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate relevant experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in a healthcare compliance role, or equivalent similar experience.

  • Conducts business with a professional, collaborative approach that is proactive, solution oriented and forward thinking.

  • Exceptional communication, critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and resourcefulness

  • High level of integrity and trust.

  • Experience of working in a multinational company and a complex, matrixed environment is a significant plus.

Knowledge/Skills:

· Experience with healthcare compliance areas such as Anti-Kickback Statute, FCPA, anti-bribery issues arising in a pharmaceutical or medical devices company, data protection and privacy laws, and transparency reporting laws and regulations.

· Strong business orientation and acumen.

· Proven project management experience, exceptional organizational skills, and a keen attention to detail.

Salary Range Information

$111,800.00 - $184,500.00 USD Annual
