Job Description Summary

As Clinical Contracts Specialist, you will support the preparation of clinical trial contracts, research contracts and other types of contracts to facilitate research and clinical trial activities. You will work with vendors, associates in the CoPat (Contracts, Payments and Transparency) group, and multiple internal stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works with Clinical Project Managers to develop Clinical Trial Agreements based on approved BD templates.

  • Serves as "first line" negotiator with external parties regarding requested changes to proposed agreements; consults with the Law Group and Outside Counsel (as directed) to develop responses for issues not within CoPat’s negotiation guidelines.

  • Assumes ownership of Agreements, manages site changes and updates which may include translations on bi-lingual templates.

  • Develops required contracts for implementation: Master Service Agreements, Research Agreements, Consulting Agreements, software agreements, KOL agreements, testing agreements, and Instrument Service Agreements to support activities with consultants, contractors, vendors, KOLs, Advisory Boards, service providers, and external grant recipients.

  • Facilitate the creation, negotiation and execution of clinical contracts with potential sites and other parties and ensure compliance with BD standards and expectations.

  • Provide executed documents for TMF, Legal and other parties; track contract approved templates status and maintain files.

  • Proactively collaborates with stakeholders to address any open contract items, including the BD Privacy office to address any GDPR contract related items.

A b out you: To be successful in this role, you possess:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree or higher degree preferred with a concentration in life sciences or other relevant technical area, such as clinical trials, regulatory affairs, or legal clinical trial contracting.

  • Paralegal Certification is a plus.

  • Minimum 4 years experience in managing research or clinical trial contracts.

  • Integrates active listening, teamwork, and a positive image in pursuit of team goals.

  • Highly motivated self-starter with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
