Job Description

Healthcare platform is an exciting team working on at the intersection of infrastructure and applications where we are leveraging on-prem resources to transform some of the largest Healthcare applications in the industry. We are making healthcare better for everyone.

To support the vision, we are building a platform that manages end-to-end lifecycle, from provisioning to upgrade to end-of-life. We are looking for passionate people who are Oracle Database and Exadata experts. We are looking for people who have current experience in managing a large DB fleet with 5 9's of High Availability and web Scale.

Work with a world class team to provide enterprise-wide, Oracle Database Administration support for production systems and provide DBA services to application development teams, including database design, database generation, coding, and database production support. Provide DBA support with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timeliness. Provide accurate and creative solutions to user problems of moderate nature to ensure user productivity.

Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience building, maintaining, forecasting, securing on-prem native distributed systems

  • BS or MS (preferred) in Computer Science, or equivalent experience

  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.

  • Strong grasp of Computer Science concepts

  • Proficient in Perl and/or Shell Scripting

  • You are experienced at building highly available and scalable Exadata systems, possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols.

  • Experience with production operations and best practices for putting quality into all deliverables and troubleshooting issues when they arise.

  • Able to effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams and presentations)

  • Working knowledge of Oracle Databases and the interaction between the RDBM/GRID with Exadata.

  • General management of Oracle Database structures to facilitate in incident investigation.

  • Able to work flexible schedules including some weekends and nights.

Experience in:

  • Building, management, security, maintenance, and forecasting scale on a multi-Exadata environment. This includes compute, storage, and switches across multiple Exadata appliances.

  • Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture & Best Practices for Oracle Database & Exadata.

  • High availability & replication technologies(Dataguard, Goldengate)

  • Working knowledge and understanding of scripting/coding (Shell, Perl and Python)

  • Building and managing Linux OS systems with good understanding how the Linux kernel works (IO, Network, etc.)

  • Working knowledge and understanding of Oracle Database structures and supporting infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Full stack ownership of a collection of Exadata and/or Exadata technology. Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services.

  • Responsible for the design, delivery, implementation, maintenance, management, forecasting, and security of the mission critical stack.

  • Authority for end-to-end performance and operability.

  • Partner with development teams in defining and implementing improvements in service architecture.

  • Articulate technical characteristics of services and technology areas.

  • Understand and communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, and requirements of the service and technology stack.

  • Understanding of the Oracle database, the memory and storage structures, the ability to stop/start/relocatethe RDBMS/GRID services, comprehension of the RDBMS/GRID log and trace filesand ability to communicate and build cohesion with Database Administrators.

  • Demonstrate clear understanding of automation and orchestration principles. Act as ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues that have not yet been documented as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Utilize a deep understanding of service topology and their dependencies required to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations.

  • Understand and explain the impact of product architecture decisions on distributed systems. Professional curiosity and a desire to a develop deep understanding of services and technologies.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $87,000 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
