Shift: 7:00am to 3:30pm
Pay Rate: $30.00 to $40.00 an hour

Responsibilities
General Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide assistance to the Frankfort facility EHS Department in its efforts to improve site specific environmental, health and safety performance and compliance systems. Position works principally with environmental, health and safety personnel to assist in delivering and implementing the facility EHS program to achieve the strategic goals of the facility and corporation.
General Requirements
Associates degree preferred
Minimum of 10-hr OSHA course completion. Preferred to have 2 years working experience in the EHS function
Computer skills of WORD, EXCEL, POWER POINT, ACCESS, and email required
Ability to successfully complete a continuous professional development plan leading to potential achievement of the Occupational Safety and Health Technician Certification, through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
Organizational and filing skills
Ability to work independently, using multi-tasking to meet deadlines with attention to detail
Good presentation and communication skills, while providing friendly customer service, to all levels of the organization
Ability to be on call 24/7 with reliable transportation
Injury Reporting
Monthly reports & filing
Assist with Safety STAR Team meetings
Conduct Accident Investigations in a confidential manner
Tracking and communicating follow-up; investigations, inspections, etc
Floor time to promote/monitor safety
Budget/ Purchase Orders/ Cost Containment
Prepare purchase requisitions and obtain purchase orders from purchasing for EHS department
Work within budget, looking for cost savings
Training/ Committees
Track, file & communicate EHS training
Assist with training material preparation
Actively participate in designated committees (i.e. safety teams, ergonomics)
Coordinate and assist with the completion of site wide EHS inspections
Assist with New Hire Orientations
Various EHS Functions
Accurately and promptly maintain EHS Department File Systems
Assist with EHS policy and procedure reviews and revisions
Update MSDS Inventory and Distribute Copies
Provide superior customer service to employees dealing with safety related questions.
Assist EHS Manager with special projects and any other duties as assigned
Continuous Improvement
Identify methods to streamline/improve the filing and support systems in the EHS Department
Coordinate EHS communications via emails, bulletins, and/or newsletters, etc.
Participate in submitting/adopting Successfully Demonstrated Practices (SDP)
Support plant food product safety management programs, initiatives and objectives.
