Adecco US, Inc. Jr Merchandise Assistant in Framingham, Massachusetts

Adecco is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Merchandise Assistant to support a team of 2-4 Buyers and an AVP Merchandise Manager in a variety of administrative and clerical functions. This is a dynamic and fast-paced role, requiring daily communication with 50+ vendors, managing purchase orders, ensuring timely vendor shipments, and assisting with a range of office duties. As a Merchandise Assistant, you will help coordinate travel arrangements, vendor visits, and various special projects to support the buying team and operations. Employment Type: Temporary

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Purchase Order Management:

  • Prepare, write, and revise domestic and import purchase orders (POs) using the Buyer Worksheet application.

  • Ensure all necessary signatures are obtained for Letter of Credit (LC) POs.

  • Collaborate with Planning & Allocation (P&A) to expedite PO entry and ensure timely updates.

  • Track PO status, manage late POs, and communicate with vendors for updates or changes, including renegotiating shipping dates and costs.

  • Work with the traffic/transportation departments to resolve any shipping issues.

Vendor Communication:

  • Serve as a primary contact for vendors, handling inquiries related to POs, allocations, and problem resolution.

  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors via phone and email communication.

  • Assist with vendor appointment scheduling, inquiries, and ensuring accurate vendor database information.

General Office Support & Special Projects:

  • Organize and maintain reports and files, including Buyer Control Files and On-Order Inquiry reports.

  • Coordinate travel arrangements for 2-5 merchants and complete detailed itinerary paperwork.

  • Assist in organizing vendor and agent visits to the home office.

  • Help with the pre-production/production sample process, including tracking samples, setting up displays, and maintaining sample binders.

  • Support the sample room, ensuring samples are received, organized, and returned on time.

  • Follow Sarbanes Oxley compliance requirements, ensuring all POs are signed by the Buyer and AVP.

  • Perform special projects as assigned, such as managing weekly spend grids, creating spreadsheets, and assisting with ad hoc tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Experience working with purchase orders, vendors, and inventory management is preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, V-lookups, etc.) and other Microsoft Office applications.

  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

  • Ability to manage time effectively and work within deadlines.

  • Previous experience in a merchandising or purchasing role is a plus, but not required.

  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay Details: $23.00 per hour
