DESCRIPTION OF WORK

A Corrections Food Service Supervisor oversees food service instructors and inmates performing large-scale food preparation and service. You will coordinate, inspect, and evaluate food preparation, production, serving, baking, meat cutting, and sanitation. You will inspect service areas, equipment, and food to ensure compliance with established safety and sanitation standards; review census data to ensure there is adequate food availability to satisfy regular and special dietary requirements; and plan, coordinate, and schedule sufficient staffing to maintain daily operations. This role requires strong leadership skills to instruct inmates in food service operations while adhering to facility safety and security standards.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40 hours per week. Work hours are rotating shifts to be determined, Sunday through Saturday. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $48,425.00 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as a Corrections Food Service Instructor; or Three years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation, which included one year of lead work experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training, which included one year of lead work experience. Additional Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
