10749 – Server Engineer I

Purpose:

This role is an entry level position which the engineer requires configuring and managing servers of different operating systems, such as Windows, macOS or Linux, including installing, fixing issues, and upgrading while implementing enhancements to them to improve performance and reliability.  They also design, implement, and manage enterprise system technologies.  

Essential Functions:

• Server management: Configuring, managing, and installing servers that run on different operating systems 

• Troubleshooting: Identifying and fixing issues that arise with servers and PCs 

• Security: Ensuring that servers are secure and up to date with the latest security patches 

• Performance: Monitoring system performance to prevent delays and outages 

• Network design: Helping to plan and execute network design and deployment 

• Backup procedures: Developing backup procedures to maintain system integrity 

• Infrastructure solutions: Designing and implementing infrastructure solutions 

• Decommissioning: Correctly decommissioning and removing infrastructure from the organization's environment 

• Communication: Liaising with users of infrastructure when outages occur

  Basic Requirements:

• Must have at least a bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline.

• Must have at least 6 months in IT experience.

• Experience in configuring network and SAN in a blade server environment would be a bonus.

• Must be adept at antivirus administration and should efficiently administer DNS and DHCP.

• A good team player and must have expertise in automation solutions and diagnostics and troubleshooting. 

• Any IT Certifications is a plus

• Occasional travel may be required.

  Salary range: $69,390 to $90,200
