Robert Half Staff Accountant in Fort Worth, Texas

Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Degreed Staff Accountant in the Non-Profit industry, based in Fort Worth, Texas. As a Staff Accountant, you will be expected to handle a range of responsibilities related to general accounting, including managing government grants, contracts budgets, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and monitor budgets for government grants and contracts

• Handle accounts payable and receivable with accuracy

• Conduct regular reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and payments received to billings and services provided

• Oversee the General Ledger and Journal Entries, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date

• Prepare financial reports and schedules, and ensure compliance with GAAP Accounting principles

• Monitor program and department financial reports to ensure compliance with approved budgets

• Address and resolve any discrepancies or variances through research

• Manage payroll, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time

• Prepare various government and contract compliance reports

• Use accounting software such as SAP and Abila MIP for various accounting tasks.

Requirements

• Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• Has proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role within the non-profit sector

• Demonstrates proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes

• Shows expertise in bank reconciliations and general ledger operations

• Has practical knowledge of journal entries and month-end close procedures

• Familiarity with SAP and Abila MIP software systems is essential

• Has a strong understanding of accounting entries and GAAP accounting principles

• Shows ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Demonstrates strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must

• Has a high level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information

• Demonstrates proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines is essential

• Must be adaptable and able to manage change in a fast-paced environment.
