Description

We are seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to join our team in Dallas. This role involves working closely with data application teams and product owners to design and implement analytics solutions that provide valuable insights for better decision making. This is a long-term contract opportunity within the tech industry, offering a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with source data application teams and product owners to design, implement, and support analytics solutions.

• Implement data migration and data engineering solutions using Azure products and services, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Event Hub, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Databricks, and traditional data warehouse tools.

• Play a key role in the development lifecycle, which includes cloud engineering, infrastructure, network security, administration, data modeling, testing, CICD pipelines, performance tuning, deployments, and production support.

• Provide technical leadership and collaborate within a team environment, while also having the capacity to work independently.

• Be a part of a DevOps team that completely owns and supports their product.

• Implement batch and streaming data pipelines using cloud technologies.

• Lead the development of coding standards, best practices, and privacy and security guidelines.

• Mentor others on technical and domain skills to create multi-functional teams

Requirements • Proven experience in data engineering or related field

• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, Oracle, and other relevant programming languages

• Solid understanding of cloud technologies, specifically Microsoft Azure

• Familiarity with analytics tools like Tableau and GitHub

• Extensive knowledge of best practices in data management and data warehousing

• Experience in Agile methodologies

• Ability to create clear and concise specifications for data models and deployments

• Solid understanding of computer sciences and MIS

• Knowledge of security measures related to data management

• Experience in workstation support and storage management

• Familiarity with HR administration processes

• Proven track record in training team members

• Ability to analyze complex data and translate it into actionable insights

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
