American Airlines, Inc. has openings for an Sr. Analyst, Data Scientist to perform the following duties: Responsible for developing the strategic vision for the future of Procurement reporting and data strategy; Support the strategic direction of Procurement operations through performance measurement and data analysis; Derive data-driven actionable insights from data and provide recommendations for the department and officer level; Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze existing processes and implement system enhancements aimed at optimizing productivity and improving workflows; Develop strategies to achieve cost saving and improve work efficiency; Identify areas where advanced analytics can be utilized to improve existing processes or performance; Proactively identify and implement new sources of data to build new reports and improve existing ones.; Support a large portfolio of reports from a variety of platforms and support high-value analysis aimed at improving Procurement operations performance; Conduct ad-hoc analyses as needed to support operational decision-making and improve profitability; Provide user training on systems developments or upgrades and offer support for troubleshooting issues

Minimum Requirements: Masters degree in Analytics, Engineering, or related field, plus 3 years of experience as Analyst or any occupation in which the required experience was gained, and demonstrated experience in: Data Integration, Data Ingestion and ETL pipelines; Data analysis, Data Extraction, Data mining, Data Warehousing, Data Querying, and Data visualization; Statistical Reporting; Procurement functions; Real-Time Data Processing; Data Quality Management; Data Security and Compliance; Quantitative analysis; Logically structure analysis of complex issues and develop creative solutions to business and operational challenges; Strong Excel modeling; Microsoft Office including Word and PowerPoint; Data visualization tools including Power BI and Tableau; ETL jobs/pipelines development; Querying large data sets using SQL; Operations and Supplier performance; Elements of procurement life cycle; Business intelligence, financial reporting, and data analytics; Automating data ingestion from multiple sources into data lakes or cloud data warehouses; Scripting with Python or R; Airline Operations experience; Agile project management. A bachelors degree plus 5 years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a masters degree plus 3 years of experience. #LI-DNI
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week/8 a.m.-5 p.m./M-F.
