Texas Health Resources Registered Nurse (RN) Ortho Trauma - Part Time Days in Fort Worth, Texas

Fast-paced, high volume Ortho Trauma Burn department is looking for top skilled nurses. Is that you?

Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave Fort Worth TX 76104

Work hours: Part Time Days (7A-7P) Rotating Weekend and holiday requirements

Department highlights:

· Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team

· 36 bed Orthopedic Trauma/ Joint Replacement Unit in the brand new Justin Tower- We provide care for patients with trauma/burn and orthopedic injuries. The unit cares primarily for adolescent and adult patients who have traumatic injuries, orthopedic trauma, and burns (20% or less). Additionally, patients requiring telemetry monitoring may be cared for on this unit. Typical patient injuries can be comprised of rib fractures, distal orthopedic injuries, traumatic spinal injuries, closed head injuries with and without state of confusion, traumatic amputations, hemothorax’s, pneumothoraxes, and etc.

Here’s What You Need

· Associate degree or Nursing Diploma required

· BSN preferred

· One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.

· Current BLS (required) –prior to providing independent patient care.

· CPI training within 90 days of hire (required)

· 1+ years of Med/surg, Burn, Trauma or Orthopedic RN experience in acute care setting (preferred)

· Strong med/surg experience including charge/preceptor skills (preferred)

· ONC – Orthopedic Nurse Certified within 2 years (preferred)

· NICHE - Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders within 12 Months(preferred)

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

· Assesses the patient

· Plans the care of the patient

· Intervenes as appropriate

· Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

· Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

· Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

· Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
