Pay

$130,000-$135,000

Shift

  • Monday-Friday: 9am-5pm (may need to stay after)

  • Flexible shifts (can choose days/hours)

  • 32-40 hours per week

Job Summary

The Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all aspects of pharmacy operations, including regulatory compliance, daily management, staff supervision, and quality assurance. This position ensures adherence to federal, state, and local regulations while managing inventory, prescription processing, and customer service. The PIC oversees both non-sterile and sterile compounding services, conforming to USP 795 and 797 standards respectively, and handles specialty prescriptions and admix antibiotics. Key responsibilities include maintaining licenses, implementing standard operating procedures, managing budgets, recruiting and training staff, and developing quality assurance programs. The PIC also acts as the primary point of contact for pharmacy-related matters, collaborating with healthcare professionals and addressing customer concerns to provide optimal pharmaceutical services in a safe and efficient manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree

  • Texas State Board Pharmacy License

  • At least 1 year experience of hands-on sterile compounding (5 years preferred)

  • At least 2 years of supervisory or managerial role

  • Knowledge of USP 797 regulations, compliance of Texas Board of Pharmacists

  • Technical skills
