Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking an experienced individual to lead the International Growth for our Fighter Readiness, Sustainment, & Training (FRST) Operating Unit (OU). Building our F-35 and F-18 sustainment success the individual is responsible for accelerating new business opportunities and continuing market development for Europe. This position will be the OU capture SME, leading and mentoring captures, while managing industry and country partnerships. The selected candidate will be located on-site with our teams in either the McLean, VA, Eglin AFB, FL, Fort Worth, TX or Dayton, OH areas.

In this role, the selected candidate works with the business unit strategy and business development team cultivating and capturing operating unit level awards objectives. The successful candidate must be able to adapt at quickly understanding customer requirements, what is required to win, developing compelling value propositions, and preparing strong business cases. This requires close collaboration with all organizational leadership, technology, business management, contracts, global supply chain, human resources and other functional organizations in order to successfully execute the business acquisition process and deliver superior results.

Responsibilities

  • Leading capture efforts to secure new or re-compete contracts or task order business

  • Provide decision support to leadership with strong business cases for capturing opportunities.

  • Leading the development of win strategies/value propositions for new opportunities and campaigns including: clearly defined discriminating and differentiated value propositions, assessment of the competition, our execution concept of operations, position to win, solid business case and submittal of compliant and compelling proposals resulting in a superior win rate.

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with teaming partners and industry associations to help drive partnerships

  • Maintaining strong interpersonal and presentation skills that convey confidence and domain knowledge to support the overall win strategy

  • Ensuring compliance with the Business Acquisition Process, timeliness and quality of gated decision reviews, oversight of other internal governance requirements and submittal of all types of responses to customer’s requests related to new business pursuits.

  • Maintaining on-going interactions with all stakeholders and functional organizations that provide input to a program pursuit (eg: Conduct effective 360-degree customer engagement strategy).

  • Collaborates with proposal managers to identify resources to close on capture requirements through proposal delivery

  • Developing/managing internal budgets required to execute new business growth activities.

  • Responsible for coordinating program capture planning and execution with Corporate Legislative Affairs and Government Relations.

  • Develops and manages internal budgets required to execute new business growth activities.

  • Ensures compliance customer Relationships Management (CRM) tools (e.g., Salesforce) while following the process standards of the Northrop Grumman Business Acquisition Process (BAP).

  • Supporting program teams in the transition of proposal awards to successful program execution.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 15 years combined government and/or industry experience with relevant acquisition, strategy, business development and/or capture background

  • Existing relationships with USAF, Navy, Marine Corps and/or USG customers & stakeholders

  • Proven capture leadership skills leading capture teams, creating/managing capture budgets, managing the schedule, developing the win strategy, and overseeing PTW and technical solution development.

  • Experience in business marketing/ coordination and submission of responsive captures/proposals with an ability to build and lead teams with a vision for success and capable of delegating responsibilities to the appropriate team members.

  • Demonstrated, effective communication skills, with the ability to use them in informing, presenting, negotiating and problem solving with a wide range of people and leadership

  • A result driven attitude and a proven capability of working in a collaborative environment across distributed locations and organizations

  • Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.

  • The ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (up to 50% of the time)

  • Must be able to meet Company requirements and work in a fast paced and challenging environment

  • U.S. citizenship required

  • Active Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree

  • Program Management experience

  • Current customer experience with JPO and Lockheed Martin F-35 Program

  • Working knowledge of the competitive marketplace including prime bid tendencies

  • Proven ability to work across organizational structures in a Tier 1 aerospace and defense company

  • International business development and capture experience

  • Experience in any of the following:

  • Autonomous systems

  • Tactical aircraft including F-35

  • Special mission aircraft

  • Aircraft and systems maintenance, repair, overhaul and upgrade (MRO&U)

  • Sustaining engineering and supply chain

  • Identifying and managing international representatives

  • Experience with international industrial engagement and alignment

Salary Range: $156,800 - $235,200

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
