Lockheed Martin Network Engineering Manager- Secret Required- GA, CA or TX in Fort Worth, Texas

Description: This position is for a Network Engineer Manager working for the Enterprise Business & Digital Transformation (EBDT) team located in Marietta, GA, Fort Worth, TX, and Palmdale, CA supporting the Aeronautics business area. This manager will provide leadership and functional management for approximately 20 highly skilled network engineers who support many different classified programs all at different development phases from early concepts to support of deployed systems.

The Manager is responsible for personnel and resource management including:

• Assign direct reports work tasks, collect feedback and provide performance appraisals, assist with career planning, and identify training development for direct reports.

• Conduct staffing and manpower planning to support current and anticipated projects, including interviewing and hiring personnel while balancing staffing demand, supply and affordability.

• Define, communicate and coordinate staffing priorities as well as funding requirements with the appropriate project leads.

• Facilitates and ensures functional team meets current and strategic requirements

• Fosters career development and employee growth as: Technical contributors, program leads, functional leaders, and future business leaders

• Establishes and implements organizational training and development plans

• Fosters employee feedback, recognition, and engagement

• Proactively communicates with all constituents

• Ensures flow-down of tactical information and strategic vision

• Implements hiring, recruiting, and retention initiatives to meet near and long-term business needs

In addition to personnel and resource management, the manager will be responsible for providing the leadership necessary to pro-actively identify and resolve issues that may impact the ability to achieve Mission Success. The individual will be engaged in program activities across the full development life cycle, ensuring the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools are applied on assigned programs. In addition, the individual will be given the opportunity to think strategically and guide programs to meet the needs of our customers now but ensure we are setup for future success. Duties also include:

• Guides resolution of technical issues across programs within technical discipline

• Provides technical leadership and oversight of program performance

• Ensures cost, schedule and technical commitments are met for all programs and products

• Ensures appropriate BOE’s are applied, risks and opportunities identified, and approves cost estimates

• Deploys engineering subject matter experts, best practices, and reuse of product, component, and infrastructure across Aeronautics

• Provides technology linkage and knowledge sharing across line of business

• Manages staffing and resource allocation across programs to meet technical, cost and schedule

• Supports strategy development and implements continuous improvements

• Process, tools, common products, infrastructure, and services and drives a Digital Data Environment wherever possible across our centers.

• Drive to ensure we are keeping pace with emerging technologies with current and future staff while supporting our IRAD and Functional Projects

Basic Qualifications:

• Active Secret Clearance; ability and willingness to obtain Top Secret

• Strong leadership and team management: Ability to motivate, guide, and manage a team of network engineers, providing mentorship, coaching, and fostering a positive work environment.

• Excellent communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including upper management, team members, and clients.

• Strong foundation in network technologies and infrastructure, including experience with routing protocols, firewalls, and network security, network architecture, design, and implementation.

• Analytical skills: Ability to analyze network performance metrics, identify trends, and make recommendations for network optimization

• Project management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and meet project deadlines within budget

• Self-starter with the ability to spot potential for process improvement

• Capable of building effective relationships with teams and subject matter experts

• Experience with managing JSIG / Risk Management Framework (RMF)

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of network automation and orchestration tools: Ability to automate network processes, reduce manual tasks, and improve network efficiency

• Familiarity with cloud technologies: Understanding of cloud computing models, cloud security, and cloud networking solutions.

• Understanding of virtualization technologies, software-defined networking (SDN), and network functions virtualization (NFV).

• Knowledge of cloud networking models, such as virtual private clouds (VPCs), virtual networking, and network security in the cloud

• Understanding of data center networking technologies, such as spine-and-leaf architectures, fabric networking, and storage area networks (SANs).

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $118,100 - $226,400 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $135,800 - $256,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
