A Mechanical Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Fort Worth, TX area. The role involves ing scientific and technological principles to develop and improve manufacturing processes and equipment while ensuring safety, quality, and compliance in a manufacturing environment.

location: Fort Worth, Texas

job type: Contract

salary: $27.85 - 33.00 per hour

work hours: 8am to 4pm

education: Associates

responsibilities:

  • Develop an understanding of processes and equipment functions in the area of responsibility.

  • Industrialize manufacturing platforms by updating designs to resolve safety, performance, and quality issues, or to reduce operational costs.

  • Create and adhere to project plans and timelines, ensuring safety, intellectual property, and quality standards are met.

  • Develop project work plans and schedules to achieve project objectives.

  • Direct initial equipment setup and debugging until turnover to operations.

  • Create mechanical, electrical, and process startup and debugging checklists and documentation.

  • Provide troubleshooting support during installation and startup phases, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.

  • Train plant personnel on manufacturing platforms as part of the turnover to operations.

  • Support project budgeting and management.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of regulations (e.g., OSHA) and compliance practices.

  • Equipment design experience with Autodesk Inventor or other 3D modeling tools, familiar with general drafting standards.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field.

  • 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with process and automation equipment.
