JOB SUMMARY The Mechanic II is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting equipment and systems used in the production of natural gas. This position ensures that gas production equipment is functioning properly and efficiently in order to meet production targets and safety standards. This role requires knowledge of job procedures and tools. Works under moderate supervision. Communicates information that typically requires explanation or interpretation. Problems faced are generally routine and may sometimes require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. Demonstrates integrity, accountability and transparency; upholds BKV standards, values and culture. RESPONSIBILITIES Typical job responsibilities of the MECHANIC II - MIDSTREAM include: • Inspect and maintain gas production equipment including pumps, compressors, and generators. • Troubleshoot equipment issues and repair or replace faulty components or units. • Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on equipment. • Collaborate with other team members to diagnose and resolve complex issues. • Follow all safety protocols and standards. Identify and promptly address safety hazards. • Monitor equipment performance and make recommendations for upgrades or modifications. • Document maintenance repair work and inventory into logs and computer systems. • Maintain a clean and organized work area. • Perform other duties as required. REQUIRED SKILLS • Understanding of natural gas industry standards, market trends, emerging issues, and regulatory requirements. • Experience with compressors, electrical systems, panel boards, controls, and skid wiring. • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electro-mechanical failure analysis and investigation. • Working knowledge of state and federal oil and gas regulations. • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office and job-related applications. Understands how to use digital tools to make informed decisions. • Ability to thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Demonstrated interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills. • Demonstrated attention to detail, organization and prioritization skills. • Basic cognitive and problem-solving skills. • Growth mindset with a demonstrated ability to innovate, embrace change and have grit. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE • High school diploma or GED required. Commensurate work experience considered. • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS • Valid drivers’ license and clean driving record. PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS • This position is located in the Barnett Field / Fort Worth Basin and is based out of the Fort Worth, Texas office. • Must be available to work holidays, weekends, and non-scheduled callouts. • Outdoor working environment with varying weather conditions. • May be required to stand for long periods of time and potentially engage in frequent bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting items in excess of 20lbs. • Sometimes exposed to hazardous environments that would require PPE (personal protective equipment) to be worn. • Frequently on the road and may remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and engage in frequent eye/hand/foot coordination.
