Adecco US, Inc. Litigation Paralegal - Oil and Gas in Fort Worth, Texas

Adecco is hiring immediately for Litigation Paralegal for our client in Fort Worth, TX. Pay starts at $55k and depending upon experience may be up to 85k. This role is ON-SITE.

The litigation paralegal position is a non-exempt position which reports to multiple attorneys. The employee in this job performs a wide range of duties throughout the litigation process. These duties will vary from attorney to attorney and case to case.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to)

  • Conducting research on individuals and companies involved in cases

  • Compiling, organizing, and indexing documentary evidence

  • Assisting attorneys with electronic document review and production

  • Coordinating document production, including bates labeling, scanning, and loading documents

  • into Relativity or other eDiscovery platform

  • Assisting attorneys with preparation for depositions and evidentiary hearings

  • Coordinating service of process for citations, summonses, and subpoenas

  • Organizing, reviewing and managing deposition transcripts and exhibits

  • Preparing video deposition excerpts

  • Preparing documents as requested by attorneys, including pleadings, motions, proposed orders, and all

  • forms of written discovery

  • Proofreading and cite checking motions and briefs, and compiling and organizing supporting evidence

  • Filing documents with state and federal courts in paper or electronic format, as necessary, in compliance

  • with state, federal, and local rules

  • Assisting attorneys at hearings and trial with presentation of evidence using PowerPoint and OnCue

  • Assisting attorneys with trial preparation, including compiling trial exhibits, preparing witness

  • files/notebooks, preparing trial notebooks, coordinating fact and expert witnesses, and serving as court

  • liaison

  • Calculating and maintaining docket/calendar entries with deadlines set forth by court or Rules of Civil

  • Procedure

  • Remaining current on changes in state, federal, and local rules and practices

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum five years of litigation paralegal experience required

  • Emphasis in civil litigation practice preferred

  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends, to meet deadlines when dictated by workload

  • Thorough knowledge of software such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, discovery management databases (Relativity preferred), and trial presentation software (OnCue preferred)

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion

  • Ability to multi-task and handle shifting priorities in a fast-paced and time sensitive environment

  • Ability to maintain regular, on-time attendance

  • Ability to manage in a professional and courteous manner interactions with clients, attorneys and other staff members

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prioritize and manage assignments and deadlines

  • Manage and organize discovery and other materials

  • Research as needed using Westlaw

  • Assist attorneys with preparation for trial and hearings

  • Exercise discretion and good judgment over work priorities, and maintain positive relationships with

  • clients, attorneys, legal secretaries/assistants and other administrative staff

  • Maintain an organized, neat and clean work area
