Lockheed Martin F-16 Avionics Systems Support Engineer - Level 3 in Fort Worth, Texas

Description: What You Will Be Doing

The selected candidate for the F-16 Avionics Systems Support Engineer - Level 3 role will respond directly to customer technical inquiries and concerns relating to the F-16 Avionics System and F-16 Avionics System Support Equipment. Monitor and perform document resolution and correspondence using the Field Service Report (FSR), Parts Failure Service Difficulties Report (PFSDR), Technical Assistance Request (TAR), and Request For Information (RFI). Support telephone and e-mail queries from internal (LM Aero) and external customers, vendors, and field support personal (to include FSE, AFETS, SPO, and TCG). Interpret various types of engineering drawings and specification data as found in company and government online data bases, legacy manuals and documentation. Use a variety of Air Force drawings, specifications, technical manuals and documentation to assist customers with various structural related anomalies and/or technical order correction/improvements - as required. Coordinate with various LM Aero teams (engineering, quality assurance, technical publications, etc.) and component level vendors when necessary to resolve technical issues and/or isolate component and/or system level problems. Requires excellent F-16 Avionics system knowledge to perform complete and comprehensive analysis of F-16 field issues.

The ability to travel (domestic and international) upon short notice is required in order to provide F-16 customers with on-site technical assistance in the resolution of unique and/or unusual problems. This task may require travel to vendor locations in order to further support analysis of the reported anomaly on an ad hoc basis.

This position requires excellent F-16 Avionics system knowledge and understanding, outstanding interpersonal skills, communication skills, technical writing skills, and a knowledge of customer protocol. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Ability to travel domestic and international in order to provide expert onsite support when requested by our customer, site managers or program teams.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum 8 Years F-16 Flightline Avionics Experience

Experience with Avionics system support equipment, use and function.

Experience with F-16 Fighter Aircraft Avionics System technical publications to include the ability to read and/or interpret aircraft technical orders, engineering drawings, and/or vendor manuals.

The ability to travel (domestic and international) upon short notice.

Desired Skills:

F-16 Flightline Avionics Experience with Systems (MMC, FCC, Air Data, CADC, EW & ECM Systems, as well as physical Boresight)

Demonstrated F-16 Avionics System experience with all blocks of F-16 aircraft.

Experience with coordinating F-16 Avionics System repair activity.

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University preferred but not required

Familiar with US Air Force maintenance procedures at the organization and intermediate levels.

Experience with Technical writing and providing formal presentations

Must have the ability to work with and support numerous customers from a number of countries and backgrounds using excellent communication skills both oral and written.

Familiar with the use of Field Information Network (FIN)

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.

Experience with Analog Flight Controls

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $90,200 - $170,000. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $78,500 - $150,400. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
