CERTIFIED DIALYSIS TECHNICIAN - Full-Time, Days

Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth- 1304 Pennsylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76104
Work hours: Full-Time, Day Shift, 3–12-hour shifts, 5:30am-6:00pm
What you will do:
*This is an administrative heavy position*
· Prepare dialysis machines for treatment, clean, disinfect, and rinse dialysis machines according to protocol, verify visual and audio alarms on machines, complete water testing on dialysis machines at the beginning of each treatment, quality controls for water and daily cleaning logs
· Stock hemodialysis carts and helps maintain supplies on unit, perform other duties as assigned
· Patient Care: Obtain pre and post treatment weights, initiate and terminate dialysis treatments per protocol, vital signs, monitor patients during treatments and report significant information or changes in patient condition to RN or Charge Nurse, obtain blood samples for laboratory analysis per physician order, accurate documentation into the electronic medical record (EMR), may reinforce patient education.
· Other duties as assigned.
· Operate in a fast-paced environment.
· Will need to be extremely flexible and adaptable.
What you need:
· H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required And
· Other successful completion of training course in theory and practice of hemodialysis within 90 days of hire Required
· 6 Months in dialysis, phlebotomy or CNA Required
· CCHT - Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician 18 Months Required And
· BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required And
· CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 90 Days Required
· Basic computer competency to include knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Work and Excel.
· Excellent verbal, written communications and interpersonal skills.
· Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English instructions, safety rules and guidelines.
