As a Budget Analyst with Robert Half, you’ll engage in diverse client projects, from budget development and grant analysis to process improvements, providing essential insights and strategic support to help clients navigate complex funding environments.
What You’ll Do:
Budget Development & Grant Management: Prepare and manage budgets across projects funded by federal, state, and private grants. Ensure compliance with funding guidelines and requirements.
Financial Analysis & Reporting: Conduct financial reporting and analysis, tracking and documenting fund allocation, expenditures, and overall budget performance.
Grant Compliance & Documentation: Ensure compliance with grant terms, including timely filing of reports, tracking variances, and monitoring project-specific requirements.
Forecasting & Variance Analysis: Develop financial forecasts and perform variance analysis for a range of budgets, identifying opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance budgeting efficiency, and improve documentation standards.
Collaboration: Partner closely with department heads and finance teams to meet budget goals and manage grant funding needs.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
Grant Experience: Background in grant budgeting and accounting, with hands-on experience working with federal, state, or private funding sources.
Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of accrual and cash basis accounting, particularly as it applies to grant management.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field is preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks, Peachtree, and Microsoft Excel (including advanced Excel functions).
Organization & Time Management: Ability to manage multiple, grant-focused projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
Analytical Problem-Solving: Detail-oriented with a strong analytical mindset, capable of resolving discrepancies and providing strategic insights on grant compliance and budgeting.
Adaptability: Thrives in a constantly evolving environment and is open to innovative approaches to financial management and grant accounting.
