Job Purpose

Serve as MediTECH primary Process Engineer and support all Fort Wayne operations in process development, engineering, and validations. This involves initiating, leading, coordinating, and executing projects, process and equipment improvements, and validations. Assist in process engineering development work. Provide frequent on-floor troubleshooting support when needed.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Primary Process Engineer for MediTECH operations, trouble-shooting issues and driving continual improvements in reliability, quality and cost (compression molding, ram extrusion, annealing, blending & cross-linking operations)

  • Lead the development and execution of new Capital Projects. Includes forming and leading project teams, informing stakeholders of progress and successful startup of all scope.

  • Lead the identification and delivery of non-capital related continuous improvements necessary in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability, etc. Lead MOC process and all documentation.

  • Design, lead, and perform Engineering Validation work for the MediTECH area with respect to processing equipment and methods. Leading the use of the IQ / OQ / PQ methodology for Engineering and working closely with the Validation Engineer to deliver customer needs.

  • Oversee the installation of new equipment (physical installation, managing contractors, following all safe practices, documentation of all changes, etc)

  • Lead and assist in the elimination of quality issues on site with the use of tools including Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why, Process FMEA’s and SPC analysis tools.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

  • Excellent communication both written and verbal as well as experience making presentations

  • Organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities and projects

  • Proven decision-making skills to include problem identification, analysis and resolution

  • Understanding of safety regulations and ability to apply them to project design & management

  • Project Management skills, 6 Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt preferred

  • Mechanical aptitude including blueprint reading and good understanding of Industrial equipment.

  • Excellent CAD skills – Solidworks and AutoCAD

  • 5 years of Engineering, Manufacturing and Project Management experience preferred.

  • The salary range for this position is $69,595 - $104,395. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
