Description
Job Overview:
We are in search of a dedicated Payroll and Benefits Specialist for our Human Resources Department. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to the accounting and administration of our benefit programs and perform advanced payroll functions.
Responsibilities:
Payroll:
Processing multi-state, corporate payrolls
Processing voluntary and involuntary deductions
Maintain employee payroll records
Preparing accounting transactions and ensuring proper accounts are affected
Acting as a liaison with divisional payroll clerks to resolve technical issues
Maintaining the confidentiality of employee information
Performing other duties as required
Benefits:
Assisting in the administration of employee benefits programs
Administering company HIPAA privacy and security policies
Presenting employee benefit topics at various company events
Processing new hire enrollments, terminations and changes
Conducting E-Verify on corporate new hires
Performing other duties as required
Requirements
Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in Accounting or a related field; CPP designation preferred
Minimum of three years' experience in payroll, benefits, or a combination
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
Experienced in using vendor administrative software for data entry and reporting
Knowledge of accounting principles, auditing concepts, controls, and payroll taxes
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to use sound judgment, take initiative, and multitask
Experience with Ultimate Software payroll system is a plus
