Job Summary

Shambaugh & Son, L.P. is looking for a Project Manager in the Fire Protection National Service division. This position is responsible for providing timely estimates and proposals to customers, estimating inspection deficiencies, and managing fire alarm, sprinkler, and suppression projects. This role includes project management and coordination of trades, ensuring successful project completion and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Estimate, sell, and manage fire alarm, sprinkler, and suppression projects.

  • Read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, contract documents, and project specifications.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers.

  • Handle listing for fabrication and material ordering.

  • Coordinate between trades to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Manage a team of designers working on fire protection projects.

  • Attend job meetings, start-up meetings, and understand the complete scope of work required for a project.

  • Review and understand all project bid documents, specs, and drawings.

  • Ensure timely and complete preparation of submittal drawings and calculations by the design team.

  • Complete or assist in submitting accurate, timely, and complete estimates and change order quotes.

  • Coordinate with the Customer for scheduling and project timeline.

  • Develop and maintain a design, stock listing, delivery, and installation schedule for the project.

  • Communicate with purchasing and fab shop to ensure timely material arrival.

  • Assist accounting staff with billing needs.

  • Schedule and lead necessary communication and meetings with internal and external clients.

  • Review job sites to observe installation, verify completion, and ensure compliance with design.

  • Actively track job progress to verify the project is on schedule and under budget.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High mechanical interest.

  • AutoCAD experience preferred.

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and spreadsheets.

  • Exceptional multi-tasking abilities.

  • Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve high productivity standards.

  • Strong computer technical experience.

  • Commitment to providing top-notch customer service.

  • Successful completion of an employment background check is required.

  • Experience in designing and managing various types of projects.

  • Excellent communicator in both written and verbal forms.

  • Team player with the ability to motivate others.

  • Positive attitude and good interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent multitasking and project management skills.

  • Ability to travel to team project sites
