[The Career Counselor will assist students with their professional development, while educating and preparing them for a lifetime of career success. - Guide students through a career-discovery process leading to viable career options.
- Establish effective connections with diverse populations for effective outreach to assigned student populations.
- Provide approximately 30+ hours of individual, group, and virtual career counseling for students and alumni weekly.
- Support students with making career decisions; assist with writing resumes, job search correspondence and graduate school essays; as well as preparing for interviews.
- Document all interactions in the Career Development Center contact management system.
- Serve as liaison to students and faculty in designated Colleges and to the priority student population.
- Provide industry-specific workshops and programming to assigned colleges/schools and students.
- Interact with alumni and employer partners.
- Assist in the development and implementation of a campus wide Student Employee Program.
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure the success of the office programming, events, and projects.
- Serve on a variety of departmental, divisional and university committees.
- Participate in on-going professional development activities and represent the department at professional conferences.

A Masters degree
in education, counseling, or a related field.
2 years experience in career services, counseling, academic advising, admissions or a related field within a higher education or secondary institutional setting.
Knowledgeable of career trends, career resources, various industry demand/needs, and academic programs with the ability to make connections between these.
Able to manage multiple projects with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Able to design and implement programs/workshops with a commitment to student and alumni career development.
Able to take initiative with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in a higher education setting.
