About the Position: This position is located at 406TH ARMY FIELD SUPPORT BRIGADE LOG READINESS CTR, FT WALKER SUPPLY & SERVICES DIVISION. Responsibilities Performs a full range of warehousing duties that includes receiving, unloads, and processing incoming shipments manually. Assembles items into groups based on condition code, type of disposition, and or type of transaction. Prepare items for shipment by comparing identifying information on documents with box markings and assemble items for shipment manually. Operates and performs operator maintenance on one or more motor vehicles including platform trucks, van trucks, stake trucks, passenger shuttle vans, and cargo vans. Operates a forklift in order to move, load, unload, transfer, transport, and stack and unstack palletized goods, boxes, crates, materials and supplies from one location to another. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Materials Handler (Forklift Operator/Motor Vehicle Operator) without more than normal supervision.1) Receiving, unloads, and processing incoming shipments manually, issuing, loading, proper storage and performing inventories. and 2) Operates a forklift to move, load, unload, transfer, transport, and stack and unstack palletized goods, boxes, crates, materials, and supplies from one location to another. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Attention to Detail Customer Service Knowledge of Materials Reading Comprehension Physical Effort - Lifts and handles items up to about 40 pounds and occasionally heavier items. Performs work that requires frequent climbing, kneeling, bending, sitting, climbing ladders, and standing for long periods of time. The employee uses hand-trucks and other types of material handling equipment to move, load, and unload large drums and various size containers from trucks and storage areas. Working Conditions - Work is performed in a ventilated warehouse and on receiving and shipping docks. These areas may be cold, drafty, or hot, and the employee may also work outside and possibly be exposed to all kinds of weather conditions. There is a chance of cuts, bruises, strains, or other injuries while handling material or driving a forklift. May be required to use appropriate safety equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, boots, etc. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a Logistics Career Field position.
