Network Engineer Intermediate – TS/SCI required

HOW A NETWORK ENGINEER INTERMEDIATE WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Will complete tasks assigned by Senior Network Engineer.

  • Under general supervision will install, configure, and support an organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), Agency Internet Network (AIN), Intranet and Internet and other data communications systems or a segment of a network system;

  • Maintain network hardware and software; monitors network to ensure network availability to all system users and perfor necessary maintenance to support network availability;

  • Provides support to projects that involve networks; and provides support in the translation of business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, MAN, WAN, Voice and Video) requirements, designs and orders.

  • Provides installation and operational support of voice and data communications hardware and software systems.

  • Designs, develops, implements, tests, debugs, and maintains communications systems.

  • Performs configuration of operating system and security patches for host and distributed systems, and implements incident response procedures during incidents of a network or host security breach.

  • Complies with prescribed customer, industry and agency standards.

  • Responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Network Engineering area of responsibility

  • Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives effectively

  • Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently.

  • Act as lead in defining and executing systems engineering activities within a project. Provide comprehensive definition of all aspects of network development from analysis of mission needs to verification of network performance.

  • Ensure efficient delivery of contract capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes.

  • Manages the transition and migration of networks and development of network addressing schemes

  • Interacts with the Government regarding Network Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts

  • Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives ​

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience

  • Required Skillset:

  • Assist with research and implementation of enterprise system-wide network solutions/capabilities/enhancements to support customer business/mission goals and objectives

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with network infrastructure and/or components

  • Evaluate and monitor health and performance of the network including hardware and management software

  • Assist with development and execution of test plans and supporting documentation of all network configuration upgrades, additions or revisions for customer approval before implementation

  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI

  • Required Certification(s):

  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract

  • IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent

  • Required Computing Environment Certification: CCNA

  • Location : On Customer Site

  • Additional :

  • Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract

  • Position may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity

  • Travel may be required to support the mission

The likely salary range for this position is $72,250 - $97,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
