Summary About the Position: This is a Human Resources Assistance (Military) is responsible for carrying out a variety of military Human Resource tasks and duties that support all students in a timely, and accurate fashion while attending courses at the Army Medical Center of Excellence located at JBSA-Ft Sam Houston TX. Responsibilities Generate orders for movement, actions related to changes in Military Occupational Specialty Codes, accessions and commissioning actions, reassignments, promotions, and Awards. Analyzes, researches, and identifies Human Resource problems. Reviews actions requested by students for compliance with military regulations and guidance and determines eligibility and qualifications required. Initiates and prepares various orders that include amendments, revocations, and endorsements, permanent change of duty assignments, reassignments, promotions, and separations from actions military service. Prepares and accomplishes cost computations for Temporary Duty (TDY) Orders (DD Form 1610). Process Special Duty Pay Contracts. Serves as the Detachment point of contact for officer and enlisted assignments. Monitors all promotion selection lists to advise to ensure that all selectees/non selectees are properly informed of their status. Researches and resolves military record processing errors. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. This should include experience providing the requirements, objectives, and practices of Military Human Resources program areas in order to analyze information and advice lower grade personnel or lower echelons on assigned actions or cases. Skill in applying a standardized body of Military Human Resources rules and regulations, policies, and operations to perform a full range of assignments. Knowledge of Military Human Resources reference materials, regulations, and manuals to interpret, modify and apply available guidelines for adaptation to specific problems. and the ability to gather and analyze basic facts in order to communicate factual and procedural Military Human Resources information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
