Army Installation Management Command Recreation Aid (Lifeguard) NF-01 in Fort Moore, Georgia

Summary This position is located at the Aquatics Facilities which is a part of Fort Moore Family & Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR). Responsibilities Serves as a lifeguard for indoor and outdoor pools and works under the direction of the Installation Aquatics Program Manager. Employs safety rules for the protection of the pool guests. Provides maximum pool area surveillance and responds to emergencies; rescues pool patrons and administer first aid as required. Assists in maintaining pool, and area clean and free from any hazards. Responsible for assisting in the conduct of aquatic swimming and water survival training according to TC 21-21. Performs periodic water tests and reports results to the pool leader on duty. Maintains daily logs, reports and records as required. Tactfully warns patrons who repeatedly disregard safety rules, and follows facility Standard Operating Procedures for disciplinary actions. Lifeguards will participate in any required training (on-the-job training emergency rescue drills, emergency action plan simulations). Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Possesses and maintains the following certifications: Lifeguarding and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard, YMCA, or ELLIS); American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional; CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED); First Aid. For Water Parks, upgrade the certification to: 'Waterpark Lifeguarding and First Aid; CPR/PR/AED' (American Red Cross). In addition, for facilities that use Oxygen Administration "O2 bottles" the O2 Administration certification (American Red Cross "Oxygen Administration or installation offered training (i.e. Fire Dept.) must be obtained within two weeks of reporting for duty. **The certification must be reflected on your resume and your certification uploaded at the time of application to be considered eligible for this position. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
