This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: ?Located at the Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Fleet Management Expansion (FMX), Fort Moore, GA. Responsibilities Maintain files and records relating to supply/parts requisition. Examine mechanical, electronic and electrical items to verify part number, identity and quantity. Expedite the requisition, receipt, and movement of priority parts and supply items. Refer technical manuals and parts/supply catalogs in order to identify repair parts and to determine acceptable substitutes. Prepare requisition forms and determine if items are available from installation supply sources or from local area vendors. Operate a government motor vehicle such as a pickup truck or carry all to pick up and deliver parts/supplies. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Materials Expediter (Motor Vehicle Operator) without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform common Material Expediter (Motor Vehicle Operator) duties of expediting the requisition, receipt, and movement of priority parts and supply items. Checking work documents to ensure that routing is correct, and that previous processing has been signed off as completed to ensure routing of appropriate parts. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort: Lifts and carries objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Heavier items are handled with the assistance of others or with material handling devices. Work requires frequent and prolonged standing, walking, stooping, crouching, and reaching. Working Conditions: Work is performed indoors in a well-lighted and ventilated work area. Regularly exposed to repair shop noises, dirt, exhaust fumes, grease, etc. May be exposed for short periods to outdoor conditions. Subject to minor injuries such as cuts, abrasions, and bruises associated with handling equipment and repair parts. Work requires use of safety shoes, safety glasses, and other personal protective items (PPI) as appropriate. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
