Aston Carter General Ledger Accountant in Fort Mill, South Carolina

Description:

Assures the general ledger is balanced properly. Accounts for all transactions and confirms accounting process is shown in the accuracy of the ledger. Documents day-to-day transactions, and reviews and checks the ledger monthly and annually. Prepares balance sheets and prepares and submits reports reflecting the state of the company's finances to management. Assists in other areas including payroll and internal auditing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Solid understanding of financial accounting functions including IFRS and U.S. GAAP principles.

• Experience performing the month-end close process.

• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving/analytical skills.

• At least 3-5 years of experience in Accounting within a manufacturing environment.

• Self-motivated, able to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

• Prior SAP experience is preferred.

Performance Expectations

• Performs the month-end financial close for assigned organizational units including general ledger account analysis and monthly journal entries.

• Prepares and reviews the analysis/reconciliation of general ledger balance sheet accounts and performs advanced accounting activities for assigned units.

• Analyzes, prepares, evaluates and reports financial results for Management on a regular basis.

• Implements and utilizes accounting-related guidelines and procedures, and proposes adoption of procedures if necessary.

• Prepares financial statements ensuring timely and accurate delivery of reporting data.

• Responsible for performing quarterly and year-end financial reporting requirements.

• Supports assigned responsible Finance/Accounting Management in analyzing accounting data.

• Consults with Managers and others on subject matter queries.

• Support special projects within the Accounting function.
