Summary About the Position: Serves as the Public Affairs Specialist for the Public Health Command, East (PHC, East), develops modern and engaging social media and digital content for PHC, East, and subordinate Veterinary Readiness Activities' (VRA) primary social media platforms Responsibilities Plans and creates multimedia content using graphic design, video and audio editing software and techniques Prepares articles, infographics, photos and video products Serves as a liaison for social media, ensures that information is releasable within applicable regulations, policies, and guidelines Determines appropriateness of information for release by applying security, appropriateness, propriety and policy reviews. Responding to and/or overseeing appropriate and/or accurate release of information to internal or external media markets or the public; 2.) Writing and/or reviewing speeches; AND 3.) Producing and/or editing presentations for media releases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07) OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Advertising, Communications, Public Affairs, Media Relations, or a related field of study. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.
