Position Summary

Link 16 EMCF Engineer

Do you have experience in evaluating and analyzing Link 16 EMC Features (EMCF) of new or updated Link 16 terminals? As a Link 16 EMCF Engineer, you will provide essential technical support to the Navy and Marine Corps Spectrum Center (NMSC) in the evaluation and certification of Link 16 terminals. You will work closely with the NMSC team to ensure that all Link 16 terminals meet the necessary standards for electromagnetic compatibility and can operate effectively in a secure and reliable communication network.

What you will do:

  • Evaluate and analyze Link 16 EMC Features (EMCF) of new or updated Link 16 terminals

  • Provide technical support to the NMSC team in the spectrum certification process

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all Link 16 terminals meet the necessary standards for electromagnetic compatibility

  • Conduct testing and analysis of Link 16 terminals to identify and resolve any issues related to electromagnetic compatibility

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation related to Link 16 spectrum certification

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

  • Experience in evaluating and analyzing Link 16 EMC Features (EMCF) of new or updated Link 16 terminals. Familiar with Link 16 waveform and Link 16 EMC Features.

  • Knowledge of electromagnetic compatibility standards and testing procedures

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • RF laboratory experience: Experience collecting RF Test Data in accordance with procedures using oscilloscopes, signal generators, pin diode modulators, RF detectors, spectrum analyzers, and power meters.

  • Experience designing and/or testing RF Amplifiers

  • A Secret clearance is required at the time of hire

Physical Requirements

  • May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment.
