Summary About the Position: Serve as a Senior level Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Specialist for the U.S. Army Military District of Washington (USAMDW), and Joint Task Force-National Capital Region (JTF-NCR), a Service Component Headquarters to Headquarters, North American Aerospace Defense (NORAD) Command and the United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM). This position is located at Fort McNair. Responsibilities Develop plans and procedures for conducting complaints processing. Direct, design, and implement efforts to hire and retain individuals with disabilities. Maintain current knowledge and keep abreast of developments in both the Federal government and private sector which relate to equal employment opportunity. Manage and administer the EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) informal and formal complaint process. Coordinate with other operational level EEO staff specialists on matters that impact on the various EEO programs and participate in development of new or changed programs. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: process complaints that involve conflicting interest; assist with developing policies for equal employment opportunity programs; and prepare input for action plans such as the MD-715 report. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Assessment and Compliance Review Customer Service Reasoning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
