Joint Activities Training Instructor in Fort Liberty, North Carolina

Summary About the Position: Serves as a training Instructor for the Joint Activities Command. This position is located in Fort Liberty, NC. This is a TERM NTE 3 years position. This position cannot be made permanent. Responsibilities Serves as Chief Instructor, directly responsible for ensuring that all training conducted and developed in the Command is administratively and technically sound. Performs instructor duties. Instructs resident Command and Mobile Education Team (MET) courses as appropriate and also develops and implements training programs to teach skills to other identified personnel. Analyzes, designs, develops, validates and evaluates education programs and courses using multimedia and distance learning technology. Performs liaison and related tasks. Anticipate and identify training and professional development necessary to acquire, sustain and hone requisite skills, knowledge and abilities in emerging technology. Supervises, coordinates the schedules, and ensures the quality of work of seven contract instructors and the contracted registrar/ synchronization manager. Applies professional knowledge of technology, multimedia, and distance learning concepts to determine course goals, enabling and terminal learning objectives, and course design. Coordinates and conducts Mobile Training Team education at these locations in order to acquaint these external organizations with the command and assist in the cooperation of the organizations Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories below are eligible to apply for this job. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Developing instructional training programs for a military command; 2) Providing technical guidance on programs and systems most applicable for developing courseware in multimedia. 3) Managing the oversight of the instructions, schedules, and assignments of support personnel; and 4) Determining requirements for education and other support for various military and/or federal agencies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Curriculum Development Instructional Delivery and Learner Development Instructional Design Training and Education Analysis Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a(n) 32 Career Field Training position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Incentives such as student loan repayment, advance in hire, relocation, and recruitment MAY be authorized for qualifying selectee. Term Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 3 years. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
