Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the HQDA G-2 Stable Shadows Program in Fort Liberty, North Carolina. Responsibilities Serves as 525th Military Intelligence Brigade Command Language Program Manager (CLPM) responsible for integrating all aspects of the language training program into 525th MI Brigade collective training and readiness programs. Provides technical oversight and policy interpretation for subordinate CLPMs at all Major Subordinate Commands (MSC). Inspects subordinate units to ensure compliance with AR 11-6 (Army Foreign Language Program) and 11-2 (Internal Controls). Interprets, applies and adapts national, departmental, and military service policy regulations and guidance. Uses initiative, judgment, and resourcefulness to successfully apply a wide variety of language training and budget management principles and policies. Ensures the successful development and management of innovative strategies and plans in response to language training requirements. Serves as the Language Program Manager (CLPM) IAW AR 11-6 responsible for the policy, programming, and oversight of 292 language dependent Soldiers assigned to four FORSCOM installations. Serves as the Language Program TALP (The Army Language Program) budget manager. Conducts biennial inspections of brigade subordinate units command language programs IAW AR 11-2 and 11-6. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) assisting in the implementation of foreign language program policies and procedures for an organization; AND 2) providing foreign language program training to an organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education Additional Information TERM: This announcement is for a term position. Permanent employees who apply, are selected for, and ultimately accept this position will be converted to a term appointment. Term positions in DCIPS may be extended up to six years; however, they may be extended an additional two years with Agency approval. This position will NOT be converted to permanent.
