Responsibilities Drives a platform truck (tow truck) weighing up to 26,000 pounds to transport other vehicles, supplies, and materials throughout the installation, public roads, and city streets in all types of traffic conditions. Responsible for loading and unloading cargo and materials, securing and transporting vehicles. Assist in preparing for and executing the Abandoned Vehicle and NAF Equipment Auctions. Performs driver's maintenance in accordance with established rules and regulations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Qualifications Must possess a valid Class A driver's license issued by the state of North Carolina. Must have 12 months of acceptable work experience operating a vehicle having the capacity and gear ratios of the type(s) of vehicles which he/she may be required to operate. Knowledge of the processing of wreck and impounded vehicles. Highly Preferred Qualification A minimum of two years' experience in towing and transporting vehicles, including motorcycles and large passenger vans (capacity of 15 or more), using a tow truck or wrecker. Two years of proficiency in managing vehicle recovery and site remediation.
